Search On For Suspects In Stamford Liquor Store Burglary Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying two men who allegedly broke into a liquor store and made off with liquor and cigarettes. The incident took place in Stamford at Wagon Wheel Liquors on Long Ridge Road around 4:20 a.m., on Monday, May 29. According to Stamford Police Sgt. Sean Scanlan, the two men broke the glass on the front door and made entry taking liquor and cigarettes.  The loss of items and damage was over $5,000. At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, Stamford Police officers responded to the area of 617 Webbs Hill Rd. off Long Ridge Road on the report of a single-vehicle crash where the vehicle was reported to be rolled over and a person was in the street bleeding. Peter Mihalopoulos, 80, and Anna Mihalopoulos, 83, were found on Monday, Jan. 27, sitting dead in two chairs in the living room of their Long Ridge Road home by their son-in-law, said Stamford Police Capt. Expect Delays: Long Ridge Road Resurfacing Starts There will be lane closures in Stamford for several days as crews begin a road resurfacing project in on Long Ridge Road. The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, May 14, there will be a 2.7-mile project performed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the road that is expected to last through Friday, May 18. During the scope of the project, lane closures have been scheduled on Long Ridge Road from the .28 mile north of Route 15 underpass to the 0.11 mile south of Riverbank Road.
