Worker Accused Of Stealing Paychecks From Country Club In Fairfield County, Police Say
Police have arrested an area man for allegedly stealing paychecks and other items from a country club where he once worked in Fairfield County.
Samuel Melo, age 26, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, March 22, by Darien Police for the incident which took place at the Woodway Country Club in Darien around 3:01 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 16, said Sgt. James Palmieri.
According to police, an employee informed officers that at some point between Friday, Dec. 11, and Saturday, Dec. 12, several items had been taken from an office space.

Investigators from the New Canaan Police Department responded to an Orchard Drive home at approximately 8:11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, where there was a report of a 2019 Toyota Highlander that had been stolen.

A career criminal with a rap sheet spanning nearly four decades will spend more time behind bars after being sentenced for a fraud scheme that swindled dozens out of nearly $150,000, federal prosecutors announced.
Steven Finkler, also known as Andrew Finkler, last known to reside in New Haven, has been sentenced to 96 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to credit card fraud and identity theft offenses last year.

A man driving with a suspended registration was allegedly busted for identity theft and numerous other crimes in Fairfield County during a traffic stop.
Karon Golding, age 23, of West Hartford, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 14, driving a 2007 Acura TSC by Wilton Police, following a traffic stop, Wilton Police said.

Police nabbed a man on identity theft following a traffic stop for expired vehicle registration.
Amir Kitale Williams, 26, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 13, by Wilton Police after he was stopped in a 2019 Nissan Rogue who's registration was showing expired, police said.
During the traffic stop, a strong odor of marijuana resulted in a search of the vehicle.
