Funnyman and beloved area resident David Letterman helped escort the old marquee sign from his famous television show "Late Night" to its new home in Fairfield County. Letterman, a longtime Northern Westchester County resident who lives in North Salem, didn't have far to travel to escort the 20-foot sign that once graced the front of the famed Ed Sullivan Theater for Dave's show on CBS, said the lucky recipient Preston Bealle, of Darien. Now that Spooky Season has come and gone, attention is turning toward the holiday season and all of the festivities and traditions that go along with it, including New York’s iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. This year’s tree is an 82-foot tall Norway Spruce from upstate New York that was grown in Queensbury in Warren County, Rockefeller Center announced on Instagram Tuesday, Nov. 1. George Pettit, Dentist In Ridgefield For Decades, Dies At 75
A longtime Ridgefield dentist who volunteered at a dental clinic in Honduras has died. Gordon G. Pettit, Jr. who practiced dentistry in Ridgefield for 32 years, died Thursday, May 23 at Danbury Hospital after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 75. Dr. Pettit graduated from Northwestern University Dental School and joined his father in his dental practice in Ridgefield. He was born in New London on Aug. 5, 1943.
