A 94-year-old Connecticut woman drowned while swimming at a state park beach. The incident occurred in New Haven County at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison on Thursday, June 20. According to Will Healey of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, EnCon Police, along with the Madison police and fire departments, off-duty lifeguards, and EnCon Rangers, responded to a report of a swimmer who submerged and did not resurface at Hammonasset Beach State Park. Officials have announced that the cause of death for two teenage boys whose bodies were located in a river in Connecticut. Large rescue teams had been searching the area surrounding the Farmington River due to high and rough waters, for the teens who were reported missing by their families on Thursday, July 15. Personal belongings, including their cellphones and clothing, were found on the banks of the river in Plainview. Police and wildlife officials are on the lookout for a bobcat after a 12-year-old boy was attacked. The attack took place around 7:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 16, in Fairfield in the area of Brett Road, police said. According to Fairfield Police, a caller said that his son was in the backyard of their residence and encountered what he believed to be a bobcat. Man Rescued After Nearly Drowning In Fairfield County
A 35-year-old local man is lucky to be alive after nearly drowning in a restricted swimming area at Indian Well State Park in Shelton. The Milford resident was swimming in the area of the waterfalls when he began having trouble shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to DEEP officials. EnCon, along with Shelton emergency services responded to the park for the report of a drowning, said Chris Collibee, DEEP spokesman. “Witnesses performed CPR until EMS arrived,” he said.
