Police In One CT City Respond To 2 Shootings, 1 Homicide Overnight Police in one Connecticut city responded to two shootings and one homicide within hours of each other. The incidents took place in New Haven on Monday, Sept. 4 beginning around 9:30 p.m. and running into early Tuesday, Sept. 5. The first incident took place on Woosley Street, where New Haven officers responded to a report of a shooting, said Capt. When officers responded to the scene, located between Adeline Street and Printers Lane, they found the driver of the moped, identified as Antonio Cruz-Oritz, of New Haven unresponsive, said Sgt. The victim died around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, after crashing her white Kia into the tree on Whalley Avenue in New Haven. According to Officer Scott Shumway, of the New Haven Police, responding officers found the woman, Brittany Jones, inside the vehicle in the area of Whalley Avenue, between Ella T.
