Race For State Senate Seat Marks First Political Run For Ex-Lamont Aide Nick Simmons
This may be Nick Simmons' first political race, but he is not a newcomer to politics.
The State Senate District 36 candidate, brother to Stamford Mayor Carolyn Simmons, was born and raised in Greenwich and now calls Stamford home.
The district comprises Greenwich, North Stamford, and portions of Stamford, New Canaan, and Newfield-Westover-Turn of River.
He left a brief career on Wall Street to teach middle school math in Harlem.

Covid-19: NY, NJ, CT Join New Multi-State Consortium For Medical Supplies
On Day 64 of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut announced the formation of a joint seven-state agreement to develop a regional supply chain for personal protective equipment, other medical equipment and testing.
Other states involved in the initiative are Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Rhode Island.

The Fairfield County Five, an economic development group that arranges business outreach events to educate those outside Connecticut, selected Stamford Mayor David Martin as its acting chairman on July 23.
The year-old regional marketing initiative is led by the mayors or first selectmen and economic development leaders of Fairfield, Greenwich, Norwalk, Stamford and Westport.

Fairfield's Tetreau To Lead Regional Metro Council
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — First Selectman Mike Tetreau has been elected chairman of the Connecticut Metropolitan Council of Governments (MetroCOG).
MetroCOG is a multi-discipline, regional planning organization with six member communities — Fairfield, Bridgeport, Easton, Trumbull, Monroe and Stratford.
