CT Man, Age 33, Killed After SUV Hits Concrete Barrier A 33-year-old Connecticut man was killed in a single-car crash after his SUV hit a concrete barrier and rolled. The crash took place in Middlesex County around 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3 on Route 9 in Middletown. Lanes Reopen After I-95 Crash In Fairfield County This story has been updated. Lanes on a stretch of I-95 have reopened after being closed most of Saturday morning, June 18 following a tractor-trailer crash. The crash happened southbound between exits 14 and 13 at 5 a.m.  A tractor-trailer truck in the breakdown lane was waiting to have a tire repaired when another tractor-trailer struck it, Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Edward Prescott said.  The crash ruptured the diesel saddle tank of the disabled truck and spilled the vegetable contents of the other truck across the highway, Prescott said. 34 Cars Get Flat Tires Due To Large Piece Of Metal On I-84, Police Say Thirty-four drivers started the morning off on the wrong foot when they hit a large piece of metal in the roadway and got flat tires in return. The multiple flat tires were reported around 8 a.m., Monday, April 8,  while exiting westbound I-84 west onto the northbound Route 8 ramp in Waterbury, near Mixmaster, the Connecticut State Police said. DOT responded and removed the metal with a payloader, state police said.
