Moose Sighting: Drivers Beware, Say State Wildlife Officials A moose is out exploring the world for spring, and Connecticut wildlife officials are warning drivers to beware. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the moose has been spotted in Hartford County in the area of Route 20 in East Granby, within five miles of I-91. Though Connecticut’s moose population is small (about 100 individuals), moose can pose a serious threat to public safety if they wander onto roadways, DEEP officials said.
