River Tragedy: CT Woman Dies When Canoe Overturns A state park-sponsored canoe trip turned into tragedy when a Connecticut woman drowned when her craft overturned.  The incident took place in Middlesex County on Saturday, Aug. 12 around 11:15 a.m., in the Hammonasset River in Clinton. Darien Police Receive Mulitple Calls For Burglarized Vehicles Darien police are once again reminding resident to lock their vehicles and remove valuables following a rash of car burglaries and thefts over the weekend.  Here's are the latest car burglaries: On Friday, Dec. 14 at 11:40 p.m. on Midbrook Lane, the owners reported their Mitsubishi Outback that had been parked on the street at the residence at about 7:30 p.m. The vehicle had been left unlocked missing was a backpack valued at $50 and a U.S. passport.
