Salmonella Outbreaks Linked To Italian-Style Meats Thirty-six people across 17 states have been sickened in salmonella outbreaks linked to Italian-style meats, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported. The CDC said investigators are working to discover which products were contaminated and to see if the two outbreaks were linked to the same food source. The people who were sickened in both outbreaks reported eating salami, prosciutto, and other meats before getting sick. From Wine Store To Wine Bar: Norwalk Resident Finally Gets His Wish Cai Palmer, a Norwalk man who owns the Wine at Five in Rye, N.Y., has taken his vinology skills to another level with the opening of The Red Pony. The new Purchase Street wine bar, open since late December, has been a longtime dream. "I've always wanted to have a European-style wine bar where you can sit with friends, have a nice glass of wine without a TV screaming a sports game at you, and not have the commitment of a full dinner," he said.
