2 CT Men Found Dead In Lake After Canoe Overturns Two Connecticut men were found dead in a lake after their canoe overturned. The incident occurred in Tolland County in Bolton at Lower Bolton Lake on Wednesday, March 13. According to Paul Copleman, spokesperson for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, multiple fire departments responded with vessels and dive teams to search for the men. Dive teams recovered one man who was transported and pronounced dead at the hospital, Copleman said. Emergency responders recovered a second body during rescue efforts. Five Rescued From Capsized Boat In Long Island Sound Five people were rescued after their boat overturned in the Long Island Sound. The incident happened Tuesday, July 7 at about 4:30 p.m. off the coast of Crab Meadow Beach in Fort Salonga in Suffolk County. Upon arriving, Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers Dave Froehlich and Patrick Ennis found the five, all men, standing on the underside of a recreational 21-foot Pro-Line vessel that overturned after being struck by a wave approximately 20 minutes earlier. City of Stamford firefighters, manning the Fireboat 236, rescued the kayaker in distress at around 4:15 p.m. Monday, July 6 after a telephone report prompted the response of the city's emergency services, the Stamford Fire Department said.  The vicitim was reported to be on a breakwall off on Greenway Island. Four Rescued After Boat Capsizes In Long Island Sound Four people were rescued from the waters of Long Island Sound after the catamaran capsized while attempting to anchor. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, near Fishers Island, said Coast Guard spokesman Petty Officer Hunter Medley.
