The incident took place in Bridgeport at Bassick High School, around 8:15 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10. Preliminary reports indicate the building was being evacuated and numerous students were affected by the substance, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport. $50,000 Reward Being Offered In Fairfield County Double Homicide Case Connecticut officials are offering a $50,000 reward in the 2011 double homicide in Fairfield County that left a man and woman in their 20s dead. On Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, the Norwalk Police Department responded to the incident that occurred on Avenue B in Norwalk. ID Released For Man Found Dead At High School In Fairfield County Police have released the identity of a man who was found dead in a stairway of a Fairfield County high school. The incident happened around 3:45 p.m., Sunday, May 16, when Bridgeport Police received a call reporting the body at Bassick High School. Bridgeport Police and AMR responded to the scene and pronounced the man, now identified as Bruce Lee Gilbert, age 46, of Bridgeport, dead on-scene, said Bridgeport PD Captain Kevin Gilleran. The man was found on Sunday, May 16 when a person called the Bridgeport Police Department to report they had "come across" a body in the outside stairwell of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management. Bassick High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat Students have been dismissed from Bassick High School due to a bomb threat earlier in the day, said Bridgeport Police. The threat was received around 11:38 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the school at 1181 Fairfield Ave., said Terron Jones, spokesman for the police department.  "Students were dismissed, the building was cleared, and police are investigating," he said.  No further information was available. Seirup Sr. and Joan (Hedin) Seirup of Fairfield, who were married for 67 years, passed away within weeks of each other.  Robert L. Seirup Sr., a beloved local teacher and coach, died Dec. 8. His beloved wife, Joan Seirup, died Dec. 31.  Joan, who was raised in Bridgeport by Harry and Katharine Hedin, graduated from Bassick High School in 1945 and from the Scudder Business School.  Bob, a lifelong Fairfield resident and son of the late Carl and Maud Seirup, was a graduate of Ludlowe High School and received a bachelor's degree from Springfield College, master's …
