Man Killed After Car Falls Off Lift At CT Auto Garage A mechanic died after he was severely injured when a vehicle fell off a lift and onto him at a Connecticut auto repair shop. The 22-year-old man was injured at Garubo Auto Sales in Hartford on Sunday, Sept. 29, when the car fell off the lift and struck him. He was transported to an area hospital, police said, where he died from his injuries. Police later identified the mechanic as Hartford resident Cristian Soto-Carrasquillo.
