Women Rowers Reach NCAA Finals

Former Connecticut Boat Club rower Kelsey Reelick helped Princeton University win the Women's Varsity 8+ in last week's NCAA Championships at Lake Natoma, Calif. Reelick's victory was the highlight of a strong performance by women from Main Street Connect communities in the national championships. Reelick is a freshman at Princeton.

Also in the Varsity 8+, Yale finished eighth, with Weston's Natalie King and Darien's Caroline Nash among its crew. Harvard, with sophomore Celia Kohl from Wilton, finished 13th.

In the Second Varsity 8+, Virginia finished sixth. Wilton's Molly Frear served as the coxswain for the Cavaliers. Princeton, with Greenwich's Catherine Parkhurst, finished ninth, and Yale finished 12th, helped by Darien's Kate D'Andrea.

Brown captured the national team championship, and its roster includes Westport's Breuk Bas and Greenwich's Caitlin Brisson. Ridgefield's Mairi McKellop rowed on the seventh place Varsity 4+ for Brown. It was Brown's seventh national title and third in the past five years.
