The Aspetuck Wildcats Division 12 cheerleaders won the American Youth Cheer New England Regional competition over the weekend and will compete in the national championships next month in Orlando, Fla.
The Wildcats Division 15 cheerleaders took second and also qualified for nationals, while the Division 10 squad took sixth out of 15 teams. The competition was held in Manchester, N.H.
The 12-year-old girls, who won the national championship last year, also won league and state competition earlier this fall. Aspetuck teams have won six national championships in various age divisions since 2005.
