WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Longshore Women's Golf Association held its 51st annual member-guest tournament. Chairwoman Audrey Hertzel and her committee organized the event and members decorated every tee for the event, and they all represented the "America the Beautiful" theme.
Each tee was decorated by a member and some examples of the theme were the Gettysburg Address, hot dogs, baseball and the Statue of Liberty. On the second hole, there was a Ford Focus to be given by Stamford Ford-Lincoln for anyone who got a hole-in-one, but no golfer won the big prize.
The day started with an elaborate breakfast catered by Fairway Market. The players began the tournament with a shotgun start in a scramble format. The winning team included Jane Dally and Pat Norton and their guests, Judy Gamble and Marge Connelly.
