Westport Little Leaguers Depart For Regional Tournament In Bristol

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Little League All-Stars traveled to Bristol on Thursday for the start of the New England Regional.

Westport plays its first game on Friday at 8 p.m. against South Burlington, Vt. Westport is playing in the New England Regional for the first time.

Westport is undefeated in three layers of playoffs already this summer. The 12U All-Stars won the District 2, Section 1 and state championship. They join five other teams from New England in the Regional, which runs through next week. The New England Regional winner advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. later in August.

The ballplayers and coaches had a team breakfast before departing with a police escort around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
