Weston's Summer Sandlot Begins

WESTON, Conn. — The Weston Little League is excited to announce that the Summer Sandlot Program is back and in full force. The concept is a no pressure, kids-rule pickup game in the form of old-time sandlot baseball.

These young players show up, are supervised and umpired by Weston Little League parents, but make their own teams, lineups and positions. The concept is to reinforce resourcefulness and the gratification of playing the game without the structure of organized kid sports.

Last Sunday, the AA sessions began with a terrific turnout. Kids pitched their own games and an exciting match went down to the last inning before it was decided. These AA games will be held most summer Sundays at 11:30 a.m. at a Bisceglie Field.

This Saturday, the A and AAA sessions will begin as well. They will be held most summer Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. at Bisceglie Fields.

For information on how to have your children join in on the fun, contact Summer Sandlot Director Seve Esposito at g.esposito@zundagroup.com.
