Weston Teams Play in Holiday Tournaments

WESTON, Conn. – Weston High School teams will have a busy week during the holiday break, including a pair of home games for the girls basketball team.

The undefeated boys basketball team (3-0) meets Staples on Tuesday in the first round of a tournament in Ridgefield. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. as the Trojans look to continue their impressive start under first-year coach Mike Hvizdo.  

Max Molinsky (15.7 points per game), Lyle Mitchell (14.7) and Charlie DiPasquale (13.0) are averaging double-digits. Mitchell is averaging 11.7 rebounds, and Molinsky is averaging 7.3 assists. The consolation and championship games will be played Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m.

Weston’s girls basketball team hosts Wilton on Tuesday and Granby Memorial on Thursday. Both games begin at 7 p.m.

The wrestling team travels to Bethel on Tuesday at 6, and wrestles again Friday at Pomperaug.

The boys swim team hosts Joel Barlow on Tuesday at 4, and the indoor track teams compete in meets in New York City on Monday and at Newtown on Tuesday.
