WESTON, Conn. -- Weston Little League players and coaches marched Tuesday in opening ceremonies for the District 1 Little League Tournament at Springdale School in Stamford.
Weston begins tournament play against Norwalk Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Wilton's Bill Terry Field. The District 1 winner advances to sectional competition. The ultimate destination is Williamsport, Pa., site of next month's Little League World Series.
Weston is coached by Larry Roberts and competes in pool B with Wilton, Norwalk, Darien National, Stamford Federal, Ridgefield National and Darien American. The District 1 championship game is scheduled for July 17. Weston's complete schedule is available online.
