Weston Lacrosse Suffers First Loss

The Weston High School's boys lacrosse team was outscored 5-2 by Huntington High of Long Island in the second half of Saturday's game to hand the Trojans their first loss, 9-5, in a non-league contest played in New York.

Sean Fumai scored all five goals for the Trojans, 6-1. Jimmy Roselle scored four goals to pace Huntington, 6-1.

The teams were tied at 2-2 after the first quarter. Huntington built a 5-3 halftime lead and led 8-4 after three periods. Lyle Mitchell, Jack Scheufele and Peter Robbins added assists for Weston, and Alex Peyreigne was splendid in goal with 19 saves.

Jack Cutrone had two goals for Huntington. P.J. Beach, Jack Castelle and Tyre Brown also connected.

Weston plays at unbeaten New Fairfield (7-0) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in an important South-West Conference game.
