Weston High School's boys lacrosse team opened the defense of its Class S state championship with a 15-0 route of Bunnell Wednesday.
Lyle Mitchell scored four goals and dished out two assists to lead the Trojans. Jack Scheufele and Zach Kraft added three goals. Dan Rogers (two goals), Riley Nichols, Richie Miller and Kyle Allon also scored. Goalies Alex Peyreigne and Grant Limone combined on the rare shutout.
Weston hosts Mamaroneck, N.Y., Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in a non-league game.
