Weston Kids Invited to Play Touch Football

WESTON, Conn. – The first annual touch football game for all Weston students in grades 1-8 will be played March 16, directly after school.

Touch football games will be organized by grade and played on the Stadium Football Field at Weston High School, under the direction of Weston High football coach Joe Lato and his team of Weston High School football players and assistant coaches.

“A lot of kids are playing football during school recess, so we thought it would be fun for them to play organized games of touch football on the same field that our high school team plays on,” Lato said. “It will also give the younger kids an opportunity to meet the high school football players and coaches and share their enthusiasm for the game.”

Students in grades 1-5 will meet Lato and his team on the Stadium Football Field, between Weston High School and Weston Intermediate School, at 3:30 p.m. Pick-up will be at 4:30 p.m.

Students in grades 6-8 also will meet on the Stadium Football Field, at 2:45 p.m. Pick-up will be at 3:45 p.m.

This event is free and open only to Weston students in grades 1-8. For more information, please contact coach Lato at 203-291-1618 or josephlato@westonk12-ct.org.
