Weston JVs Post 5th Shutout

The Weston High School junior varsity soccer team posted its fifth shutout of the season Saturday with a 2-0 win over Seymour. Weston's junior varsity squad has surrendered just two goals in its last five outings.

The JV boys soccer team has a winning record and has given up only two goals in its last five outings. With this week's shutout over Seymour, the JV Trojans posted its fifth shut out thus far this season.

In Saturday's win over Seymour, the young Trojans had many shots on goal and fine ball control from Stephen Schwartz, Colin Wyler Sam Meyers and Russel Kirschenbaum. There was aggressive forechecking and corner play by Sam Meyers, Ian Finn and Jake Knopping.

Max Ingall and Nick Dibartholomeo played well in goal behind a defensive unit that included Jared Weisman, Matt Mintzer and Travis Whitmore.

Andrew Parks scored Weston's first goal midway through the first half. Parks booted a soaring shot into the upper corner of the Seymour net. Parks was also in the mix for Weston's second goal with a crisp assist to Chase Pomerantz.

Eli Chodock, Ian Finn, Geronimo Valin and Max Ingall also played well for Weston, which improved to 5-2-2.
