Weston Girls Relay Scores 2nd at National Meet

Weston's girls track team finished second in a sprint medley relay Thursday at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. The team of Sara Dietzman, Ellie Martin, Callie Arlo and Kara Bucaro ran 4:12.68 in the Emerging Elite division. They finished just behind Columbia Track Club of New Jersey, which ran 4:12.24. The Weston team's time is believed to be a new school record by nearly four seconds. 

The Weston girls were among several local athletes competing at the meet, the final high school competition of the season. Fairfield Prep's Connor Rog finished seventh in the 5,000 in the boys championship race, and Staples' pole vaulter Lexie Schachne took third in the Emerging Elite girls pole vault.
