Weston Football Shoots for Another Winning Year

WESTON, Conn. — Just four years ago, Weston High School football was mired in a 22-game losing streak that stretched over three seasons. The pieces finally came together for the Trojans in 2010, when Weston finished with a 6-4 record, its best in eight years.

In the video, head coach Joe Lato discusses how Weston hopes to build on that success. Lato says his players are aiming high this season and believe they have a shot at making the Class S state tournament.

Weston opens its 2011 schedule on the road at Stratford on Friday at 7 p.m. The Trojans also travel to Newtown, Bethel, Notre Dame-Fairfield and defending Class L state champion Masuk. Weston will host Brookfield, Bunnell, Oxford, New Fairfield and Joel Barlow in the annual Thanksgiving Day showdown.
