Weston Boys Soccer Meets Bethel in Opener

WESTON, Conn. – Weston will meet South-West Conference rival Bethel in the first round of the Class M boys soccer tournament Friday at 2 p.m.

The Trojans (8-4-4) are seeded 19th while the Wildcats, the defending Class M state champions, are seeded 14th. The winner meets Suffield on Nov. 14. Weston tied Bethel, 2-2, during their regular season meeting. The complete Class M boys soccer pairings are available on www.casciac.org.

Weston’s girls soccer team plays Thursday at 4 p.m. in Burlington. The 28th-seeded Trojans (7-9) meet No. 5 Lewis Mills (13-1-1). The winner advances to the second round on Tuesday. The state bracket is online.

The Weston swim team competes at Plainville High School on Saturday in qualifying for the Class S championships. The top swimmers from the qualifying meet advance to the championships Nov. 15 at Wesleyan University. Weston is the defending Class S champion. Entries for the meet are online.
