Weston Boys Seek Return Route to Lacrosse Title

WESTON, Conn. - A year after winning a thrilling state championship over St. Joseph of Trumbull, the Weston High boys lacrosse team had the misfortune of facing the Cadets in the opening round of the 2011 tournament. St. Joe's exacted revenge and booted the Trojans early.

The path back to the Class S state championship begins Thursday. In the video, head coach John Mathews explains that he is itching to get the season started. He touches on the makeup of this year's squad and how he thinks his team will fare in the Southwest Conference this season.

Weston opens its 2012 campaign on the road, traveling to Masuk on Thursday for a 4 p.m. game. The Trojans host their first home game Saturday against Glastonbury at 2 p.m.
