Weston, Barlow Tussle To Break Tie

Season records usually mean little in the annual battle between SWC rivals Weston (5-4) and Joel Barlow (2-7). The Trojans and the Falcons will lock horns to kick off Thanksgiving for the 11th time at Joel Barlow High School at 7 tonight.

The teams are an even 5-5 in Thanksgiving matchups with the unexpected becoming the expected in a growing rivalry between Weston and Barlow.

Joel Barlow High School came out on top last year, 28-19. Both teams have been eliminated from their class playoffs, but they will both be looking to snap the Thanksgiving tie between them.

Weston has the added motivation of trying to finish with a winning record for the first time since 2002. Weston also has the best offensive weapon in its arsenal in running back Eddie Hutchins, who is ranked second in the SWC in rushing yards.

It has been a disappointing season for Barlow, which had been hoping to build on its .500 season a year ago. Barlow has suffered through a string of key injuries to nine of its starters. Falcons starting quarterback Peter Meehan is expected to be back in the lineup for Wednesday's game.
