WESTPORT, Conn. C.C. Bingham scored the games only goal in the first half to lift Westhill to a 1-0 victory over Staples Tuesday in a Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference game.
Rachel Benz assisted on Binghams game-winner as the Vikings improved to 10-1-1. Westhills only loss this season is to unbeaten St. Joseph. Staples fell to 5-4-1. Jesse Ambrose made eight saves for Westhill while Allie Souza made eight for the Vikings.
As the league enters the homestretch of the regular season, Westhill is currently second in the race for league playoff positions. The Wreckers are 10th. Staples meets Trinity Thursday and New Canaan on Saturday in key league contests as the Wreckers aim to secure one of the eight playoff berths.
