Stamfords Anatolie Vartosu and Dariens Liz Herbert ran away with top honors in the first race of the 48th annual Westport Road Runners Summer Series Saturday at Staples High School. Vartosu covered the 2.17 mile course in 11:55, and Herbert won 13:40.
There were 151 finishers in the race. The event was the first in a series held each Saturday morning in Westport. The distances in the 10-race series get progressively longer. Saturdays race is 3.1 miles and begins at 8 a.m. at Longshore. Find out more information here.
