The Staples High School football team scored 44 of the last 50 points in Saturday's Class LL state semifinals to punch a ticket to the championship game next week against top-ranked Xavier. The Wreckers erased an early 14-0 deficit to beat 6th ranked Newtown, 44-20. A full game story will be posted later.
