Runners from all around Fairfield County and beyond ran 3.1 miles Saturday in the April Fools' Race for DARE in Easton. Andreas Markakis won the men's race, and Erin Begg captured the women's division.
Karen Newman of Old Greenwich (women's 40-49 division), Wilton's Katherine Stallfort (women's 50-59 division) and Westport's Salvatore Mulia (men's 60-69 division) were among the age-group winners.
Runners were greeted by temperatures in the high 40s with a brisk wind and sunny skies. There were 299 finishers as runners put a long winter behind them to stretch their legs in one of Fairfield County's most popular early spring races. Complete results are available on the Hi-Tek Racing website.
