A 2-mile road race for children in Grades 3 to 12 will be held at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club on July 9 at 9:30 a.m.
The kids-only race participants will join nearly 25,000 other youth across the United States to raise awareness and funds for global malnutrition programs. Participants get to help end acute malnutrition by paying the race fee of $15, which will go directly to Action Against Hunger.
Beyond raising funds for Action Against Hunger's cost-effective programs, the race also promotes healthy lifestyles for all of the children that participate. Young runners do not need to be a current member of the club to participate.
Registration is under way. Find the form at www.wakemanclub.com under programs then the Sports, Fitness and Recreation tab.
