Karate Returns to ECC for Fall Classes

After a successful summer program, the Easton Community Center once again welcomes USA Seishin-Do Karate for two fall sessions. Seishin-Do Karate is based on traditional Japanese martial arts. The program is designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of martial arts, develop balance, coordination, awareness, and physical fitness. Students also learn how to protect themselves in different situations, such as what to do when they are lost, what information to remember for their own safety, how to deal with bullying and what to do when approached by a stranger. A strong emphasis is placed on Martial Arts philosophical teachings, which are incorporated into every lesson.

Two sessions will be available for sign-ups for children 5 and older. The 14-session classes will run weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 14. The class costs $125 for ECC members and $175 for non-members. To register or for more information, call the Easton Community Center at (203) 459-9700, or visit their website.
