EASTON, Conn. Joel Barlow junior Logan Fulton finished ninth Tuesday in the State Open cross country championships at Hammonasset State Park in Madison. Senior Emily Winter finished 50th in the girls race.
Fulton finished the 5k course in 16:13, an average of 5:13 per mile. Fairfield Preps Connor Rog won the race in 15:22, followed by Fairfield Wardes Harry Warnick (15:35) and Staples Henry Wynne (15:50). The ninth-place finish earned Fulton a berth in Saturdays New England championships in Rhode Island.
Winter capped a strong season with a time of 20:16. Reid Watson of Glastonbury won the race in 18:35. Fairfield Preps boys and Ridgefields girls won team championships. Complete results are available on www.casciac.org.
