The Greens Farms Academy girls varsity lacrosse team traveled to Hopkins on Thursday and returned home with something not seen in more than five years, a victory over the host team. The Lady Dragons found themselves down a goal (3-4) at halftime, but they battled through the entire second half, claiming an 8-7 victory. Hopkins tied it up with 2:31 left before Meighan Grady (Darien) scored the game winning goal at 1:34 left. It was just one of Grady's give goals on the day. Morgan Bingham had a solid game between the pipes for GFA, helping secure the win for the Lady Dragons. Also having strong games for GFA were senior Hayley Brown (Wilton) with 2 goals, and sophomore Madison Leonard with one.
The team will look to keep the winning ways going on Saturday (April 16) when they host Miss Porter's beginning at 2:30pm.
