Rye Country Day School connected on nine 3-point baskets en route to a 70-59 win over Greens Farms Academy of Westport in a Fairchester Athletic Association game Friday in Rye, N.Y.
Sean Obi, a GFA sophomore from Greenwich, scored 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Westons Dan Chase added 19. But GFA struggled from the perimeter, going 0-for-19 on 3-pointers.
A week ago in a scrimmage against New Canaan they played the exact same combination of defenses against us, and we couldnt miss,'' coach Doug Scott said. "Tonight was clearly a different story. Sometimes that happens in an away-game gym.''
GFA cut Rye CDs 14-point lead to 54-52 with less than three minutes remaining before running out of steam. Rye secured the game from the foul line.
