WESTPORT, Conn. The Greens Farms Academy boys basketball team erased an early nine-point deficit to win its seventh game in a row. The 60-54 come-from-behind victory over Hopkins lifted the Dragons into second place in the Fairchester Athletic Association standings.
After Hopkins jumped out to an early lead, Greens Farms switched to a zone defense and chipped away slowly. The Dragons kept feeding passes to Sean Obi in the low post, and the big center obliged with a game-high 24 points and 23 rebounds.
Greens Farms tied the game with 5:45 left and pulled ahead from there. The Dragons had a stellar night shooting, going 23-for-25 from the field.
Hopkins' Laurent Firlotte kept the Hilltoppers in the game with a 10-for-16 effort from the free throw line and 20 total points. Greens Farms' comeback stemmed partly from dominating rebounds, coming up with 53 as a team.
Tremont Waters came off the bench to net 11 points for Greens Farms. Patrick Ryan added eight, while Hunter Eggers contributed seven.
Greens Farms (10-3 overall, 7-3 conference) will try to extend its winning streak Monday when it hosts the Masters School at 5 p.m.
