Greens Farms Boys Pound Stamford Academy

WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport’s Brian Comey scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Greens Farms Academy to an 83-34 win Monday over Stamford Academy.

Comey also had three steals and blocked a shot as GFA improved to 8-3. The Dragons, 5-3 in the Fairchester Athletic Association, have a key game against Masters Wednesday in league play.

Stamford’s Zach Baines scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while blocking four shots. Hunter Eggers of Greenwich added 12, while Kam Mickens, Matt Tate, Pat Ryan and Tremont Waters had nine apiece. Wills Rooney and Van Barnet also contributed for Greens Farms. Sean Obi, Greens Farms’ standout junior center, sat out the game to rest for Wednesday. He is ranked third in the nation in rebounding by MaxPreps.com with 18.0 per game.
