Get out your gloves, polish your bat and wipe the dust off your cleats, Weston. It's Tee-Ball time.
Weston Parks and Recreation announced that registration will begin soon for kindergarten boys and girls Tee-Ball, which runs most Saturdays from April 30 to June 18.
"All players must bring their own glove and shoes [soccer cleats work fine]. Team hat, shirt, bats, batting helmets, balls and a batting tee are provided by the Parks and Recreation Department," says the Parks and Rec Tee-Ball flier.
The games take place from 8:45 to 10:15 a.m. at the Fire House, Bus Garage or Onion Barn fields. Each days starts with a half hour of FUNdamentals, followed by a one-hour game using a batting tee and soft Tee-Ball baseballs. The cost is $75 payable to the town of Weston.
Each team requires one manager and as many "coaches" as possible, the flier says. "No baseball knowledge required for coaches, just show up on Saturday. The success of this program [fun for the children] depends on your willingness to help."
Registration takes place on two days only Monday, March 28, and Tuesday, March 29, from 1:30 to 6:15 p.m. in the recreation office at Norfield Road and Route 57. "This is an in-person registration only. Please register early!"
