Get Ready for Spring Sports, Easton

Get out your gloves, polish your bat and wipe the dust off your cleats, Easton. It's Tee-Ball time at the Easton Community Center.

Beginning Tuesday, March 8, the five-week session will give 4- to 6-year-olds a chance to learn the basics of the game, including base running, hitting and fielding. The community center also focuses on building teamwork skills and nurturing good sportsmanship. "Whether your child is a beginner or you just want to reinforce good fundamental skills, then this is the program for you," says a community center email. Each participant is asked to bring a glove.

The community center is also offering a new indoor baseball class, intended for children who are ready to hit pitched balls and learn more advanced fundamentals. This class covers forced outs, tagging runners, batting, catching and throwing. Kids will play mini-games after participating in the skill development sessions. "Team work and good sportsmanship are mandatory," the community center says. Each participant is asked to bring a glove.

Basketball and archery classes are also available this spring at the Easton Community Center. For more information, contact the center at 203-459-9700 or visit the group's website.
