FAIRFIELD, Conn. Fairfield American, Fairfield National and Westport begin play in the double-elimination phase of the District 2 Little League tournament Monday at Blackham School in Bridgeport.
Fairfield American plays Westport and Fairfield National plays Trumbull American in the first games of the double-elimination phase. Fairfield American and Fairfield National were dominant in pool play, both going 5-0. National allowed just one run, while American allowed seven. Westport finished 3-2 and won a tiebreaker over Fairfield National.
Monday's winners advance to the winners bracket final on Tuesday. Tuesday's winner will advance to Saturday's championship game. The loser plays in the losers bracket final on Friday, and then needs to win three games in three days to earn the right to advance to the Section 1 tournament.
