EASTON, Conn. Pomperaug raced past Joel Barlow, 65-44, in the semifinals of the South-West Conference girls basketball tournament Tuesday night in Weston.
The sixth-seeded Falcons (16-8) will now await the Class M state tournament. Pomperaug (20-2) advances to play Lauralton Hall in the championship game on Thursday.
Brittney Dumas scored 17 points to lead Barlow, and Drew Bartro added 10. Pomperaug led 11-8 at the end of the first quarter, but took control with a 19-6 second half explosion to take a 30-14 lead.
Pomperaug defeated Barlow, 64-56, during the regular season.
