For the third time in four years, Joel Barlow High School's volleyball team fell to RHAM in the Class M state championship game, which was played in Glastonbury on Saturday.
After winning the first game 25-15, the Falcons were barely edged in the next three games by the Sachems. Barlow had a 6-0 advantage at the start of the second game, but RHAM rallied to win, 25-22.
Standouts for Barlow included Sarah McAniff and Renee Wasko, who scored a combined total of 23 service points and 25 digs. Victoria Shea nailed 12 kills for the Falcons.
