WESTON, Conn. – The entire Weston community is invited to have lunch with Superintendent of Schools Colleen Palmer this week to discuss the proposed 2012-2013 school spending plan.

All residents are welcome to participate, whether or not they have children enrolled in the schools system. The dates and locations for the meetings are:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 25, noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Town Annex Building, 24 School Road.
  • Thursday, Jan. 26, noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Town Annex Building, 24 School Road.
  • Saturday, Jan. 28, noon -1:30 p.m. in the District Administration Building, 24 School Road.

“This is really an avenue for a two-way conversation on the budget,” Palmer said Monday. All residents are encouraged to come and ask questions or express their concerns over her proposal, which can be found here.

Registration is required. If you would like to join a session,  contact Lynne Ohmes, assistant to the superintendent, at lohmes@westonk12-ct.org or call 203-291-1401.

If these sessions become booked, Palmer said she expects that more forums will be scheduled. Dr. Jo-Ann Keating, director of finance and operations, will attend the Wednesday and Thursday sessions.

Residents are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Coffee will be provided free of charge.
