Weston High Shows Movies During Outages

WESTON, Conn. – Weston High School is showing movies for residents without power who need to get out of their homes for a few hours. 

“To help our citizens pass the time in these challenging conditions, Weston High School will be offering free movies in its auditorium throughout the day until the schools reopen,” Superintendent Colleen Palmer said Monday. Power has been restored to all schools and to Town Hall.

“The library at the high school is also being made available to all citizens for reading or Wi-Fi access from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily," Palmer said. "We have turned up the heat a few degrees to make everyone a little more comfortable, especially those existing in unheated homes at this time.”

Films showing Monday in the Weston High School library are:

1 p.m.: "Rio" – an fun animated comedy for the whole family, rated G;

3:30 p.m.: "Secretariat" – an astonishing true story about a spectacular race horse, rated G.

7 p.m.: "The Blind Side" – a heart-warming story of a family that extends a hand to a young man in need, rated PG.

The film schedule for Tuesday will be posted on the district’s website later Monday. Palmer also said they expect an update on the reopening of schools later Monday.
