Tutoring for State Test Offered to Easton Students

EASTON, Conn. – Easton high school students can get a jump on the Connecticut Academic Performance Test this year at review sessions being offered by administrators from the Joel Barlow High School. The free classes will be given during the next several weeks.

The CAPT is a comprehensive, state-required assessment test administered to all public high school sophomores in the spring. Students must pass all sections of the CAPT to be eligible to earn a diploma. To help students prepare, teachers will review topics in algebra and functions, numerical and proportional reasoning, geometry and measurement and working with data: statistics and probability. 

The sessions will meet from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Feb. 6. Session dates and topics to be covered are as follows:

  • Feb. 6 – Algebra & Functions
  • Feb. 8 – Algebra & Functions
  • Feb. 14 – Geometry & Measurement
  • Feb. 16 – Geometry & Measurement
  • Feb. 28 – Numerical & Proportional Reasoning
  • March 1 – Working With Data: Statistics & Probability
