Four underclassmen handed Justin Mettel's future date four roses with the letters P-R-O-M spelled out inside. Then Mettel, a senior from Weston waited for her in the parking lot with a bouquet of sunflowers and Hershey kisses on the hood of her car in the shape of a question mark and his initials, JM. It's prom season in Weston.
Prom is May 20 at Weston High School, and the proposals are just getting started. Senior Callie Bowie described the different proposals so far, which have included the classic flowers and a red carpet leading to the senior lounge and a student dressed in a suit ready to propose.
One student had his future date called to the principal's office via the loudspeaker and was waiting when she arrived. Another student wished his future date a happy birthday over the loud speaker, then proceeded to ask her to prom.
