WESTON, Conn. ? Joanna Genovese has resigned as principal of Hurlbutt Elementary School because her administrator certification has lapsed. Kenneth Craw, assistant superintendent of schools, will serve as interim principal until another interim principal is in place.
Genovese's resignation takes effect immediately.
The district will start its search for a permanent principal in January, with the goal of appointing a new principal effective on or about July 1.
